This beautiful town of just under 100,000 people is located 18 short miles southeast of Tulsa and has been on an upward growth curve since 2005 when the city decided that it wanted more of its residents to not have to drive to other cities for cultural or recreational activities.
So, it set out to remedy this situation and now boasts one of the most active local communities in all of Oklahoma.
Highlights include the Historical Society, the Community Playhouse, Neinhuis Park, the Stonewood Hills Shopping District, the Safari Sanctuary, the Bluebell Creameries and the Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World Complex, just to name a few. No worries, there are plenty of activities to keep all ages happy and enjoying every minute of this lovely community!
Broken Arrow also hosts several key events throughout the year, such as the annual Christmas Parade and Rhema Christmas Lights Tour, as well as the Job Fair in March and the summer concert series on Tuesday nights in Central Park. Rooster Days at the beginning of May are always a big hit and people just can’t wait for the “Taste of Summer” tour at the Bluebell Creameries’ factory in June… Of course, one of our favorite events every year is always the Historical Society’s Holiday Home Tour in downtown Broken Arrow displaying all of the beautifully decorated homes!
Broken Arrow has also turned itself into quite a powerhouse for big business with more than 30 national corporate headquarters or factories being based in the Broken Arrow area, propelling it to the third largest concentration for industry in the entire state! Apart from jobs, this has allowed the area to grow in many other respects with regards to schools, culture, sports and home values.
In today’s tough economic climate, it’s difficult for communities to continue to truly thrive, but Broken Arrow is holding its own and hopes to continue receiving high marks for its healthy environment, great family life and overall quality of living.
